A couple of months ago, I was given the opportunity to attend the listening session of the new Helloween album ‘Giants & Monsters’ at the prestigious Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum, right here in the Netherlands. The entire band was present and available for interviews at the listening session. Naturally, I requested a couple of interviews for several publications that I write for. More specifically, I requested three, but I eventually ended up doing four interviews. No, that is not normal, but it was fun, and I enjoyed running with it.
Because I have all of this material, I decided to dedicate Kevy Metal to Helloween for a full week, starting with a review of ‘Giants & Monsters‘ this Sunday. After that, all four interviews will follow – one per day – after which I will dedicate one of my recurring segments to the German power metal pioneers. Six publications in six days. Which has been quite the undertaking, but it has been lots of fun, and I can honestly say all of the interviews were interesting and informative to me. Hopefully they will be to you as well.
No spoilers yet as to who will be covered, alhough my friend Joe pointed out that I was visible in this video that appeared on the band’s YouTube channel – look out for a Saber Tiger shirt. This may give you a hint for one or – if you look really closely – two of the upcoming interviews.
